Several changes affecting the Quorums of the Seventy, Young Men and Sunday School organizations were announced during Saturday afternoon's conference session.
Church members sustained the callings of Elders D. Todd Christofferson, Marlin K. Jensen and David E. Sorensen to the Presidency of the Seventy, a change that was announced in August. They join Elders L. Aldin Porter, Joe J. Christensen, Harold G. Hillam and Earl C. Tingey in that presidency.
Elders W. Eugene Hansen, Jack H. Goaslind, Ronald E. Poelman and James M. Paramore were released from the First Quorum of the Seventy and accorded Emeritus status.
Elder Paramore has been a General Authority since 1977, Elders Goaslind and Poelman since 1978 and Elder Hansen since 1989.
Elder Robert K. Dellenbach replaced Elder Goaslind as president of the Young Men organization. Elder Dellenbach had been serving since October as first counselor. Elders F. Melvin Hammond and John M. Madsen were called to serve as Elder Dellenbach's first and second counselors, respectively.
Elder Hammond previously served as second counselor.
The Young Men presidency administers a worldwide organization providing spiritual training and activities for nearly 650,000 boys ages 12 through 18.
The current Sunday School president, Elder Harold G. Hillam, will serve with Elder Neil L. Andersen as first counselor and Elder John H. Groberg as second counselor. Elder Andersen had been serving as second counselor in the organization and replaces Elder Glenn L. Pace.
All named above are members of the First Quorum of the Seventy.
