— LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE —

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

Quorum of the Twelve

Great things are happening in the kingdom of God because the faithful are acting upon the points of God's law and commandments.
"As leaders of the Lord's church, we are thrilled to see so much good being done by many righteous and faithful Latter-day Saints. Please know that we pray often that our Heavenly Father will help you to be true to the covenants that you have made with him."
"The fulness of the gospel is a pearl of great price worth any effort." Church members must provide for their families but be careful not to let career pursuits divert them from the gospel path. Likewise, members should truly live the gospel and not just appear to. "The Lord has made it clear that he will not be fooled by appearances."
Blessings are granted for those who are true to covenants. Each person has a stewardship to watch over and care for his or her own soul.
Five suggestions for strengthening one's resolve toward righteousness are: keep commitments, partake of the sacrament, worship in the temple, fill home- and visiting-teaching assignments and remember accountability to the Father.
