— LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE —

Pres. Thomas S. Monson

First Counselor, First Presidency

Church members should be bridge builders to those around them.
Nearly 55,000 full-time missionaries are embarking on the awesome task of teaching, testifying to and baptizing the people of the world.
Most who embrace their message have been exposed to the church in some way — often by knowing a member whom they respect and admire.
"We as members should be at our best. Our lives should reflect the teachings of the gospel and our hearts and voices ever be ready to share the truth."
Fellowshiping should begin well before baptism.
The Lord guides the efforts of those who strive to learn and live the gospel. One couple who feared parental reaction to their baptism were happily surprised to learn their parents were also planning to join.
Priesthood leaders can also reach less active members enlisting the help of the bishop, providing inspired teachers and giving attention to each individual.
