President Gordon B. Hinckley

President of the LDS Church
Church members have a "primary declaration of faith" a belief in God, the Eternal Father, and in his son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
"We speak unabashedly of the living reality of the Lord Jesus Christ. We declare without equivocation the fact of his great act of atonement for all mankind. That act brought assurance of universal resurrection and opened the way to exaltation in our Father's kingdom."
Closing the final session of conference, he expressed appreciation for the spirit of the Lord, for the talks of conference speakers and urged members to "live together in love and appreciation and respect one for another. May you know the smile of heaven upon your lives. Our love reaches out to you. We love you very much. We leave our blessing upon you."
He said members never need doubt that the church will be misled because it is guided by revelation from God. He urged all to be good citizens and good neighbors wherever they live and to recognize the good in others.
Church members need never surrender their allegiance to church teachings, but "we can set aside any element of provincialism and parochialism."
