Church announces 5 new temples
The announcement of two full-size temples and three smaller temples during the general priesthood session continues the brisk pace that President Gordon B. Hinckley has set for such construction. He has dedicated 25 temples during his tenure in the church's First Presidency, the most recent one in St. Louis, Mo., in June.
Small new LDS temples to dot globe
President Gordon B. Hinckley announced a plan to begin building small temples in remote areas of the church to complement the 69 larger temples either operating or in some phase of construction around the globe.
LDS sustain new Young Women presidency
A new Young Women general presidency was sustained, presidencies of the Young Men and the Sunday School were reorganized, and two new area authority/seventies were called during the Saturday afternoon session of general conference.
LDS documentary 'Ensign to the Nations' airs today
"An Ensign to the Nations," an LDS Church production that was more than two years in the making, will premiere locally today at noon on KSL-TV, Ch. 5 between sessions of LDS General Conference.
