Declaration of independence

If the Denver Post is to be believed, BYU may call a press conference before the end of business today to announce they're staying put.

I'll confess that I don't and won't know all of the particulars regarding the merits of staying or foregoing conference affiliation and declaring independence. I'm not sure those who are paid to know necessarily know themselves. And anybody who pretends to know the implications of ALL the issues is lying.

But the cat's out of the bag. So, it's left to novices like me who are inclined, as my wife and kids will tell you, to form strong opinions on very little information.

"I don't care what your friend's parents let them do, you can't go," is my mantra. I've helped raise four wonderful kids - sons who are all Eagle scouts and have all served missions - primarily on FEEL. I'm a, "'Cause I said so, that's why!" kinda parent.

Informed decision, this is not.

But if you come looking for opinion and feel? Keep reading.

Lets throw caution to the wind and declare our independence. Independence from the shackles of the World Wide Leader of incompetence, the mtn. network (who was the marketing genius who thought it would be a good idea to make "mtn." lowercase?), Mountain West Conference and the idiocy of MWC commissioner Craig Thompson.
