Jazz M*A*S*H unit update
Jazz writer | March 18, 2010 at 6:10 p.m.
The Utah Jazz had the day off from practice today, but it was a busy day for the team's medical and training staff.
Deron Williams underwent an MRI a day after getting banged up in the Jazz's 122-100 win over Minnesota, with the test results revealing that the All-Star point guard has a bruised left shoulder.
Williams also has a mild left ankle sprain and will be a gametime decision for Friday night's game in Phoenix, according to a Jazz spokesman.
Forward Andrei Kirilenko, the team announced, also re-aggravated his strained left calf. He is questionable for the big game against the Suns.
Another Jazz starter, rookie Wesley Matthews, will be a gametime decision after suffering a sprained left knee on Wednesday night.
Despite all of the injuries - and the possibility the Jazz might only have nine players available against the Suns - second-year center Kosta Koufos was not recalled from the Utah Flash to travel with the NBA team.
This will be a quick trip for the Jazz, who play New Orleans at home Saturday.
