Those attending Saturday night's 116-83 Utah Jazz victory over the New Jersey Nets witnessed a couple of rare things.

For one, it isn't often that you get to see a three-win team after the midway point of the NBA season. The Nets are one of just three teams EVER to only have three notches in the wins column through 43 games.

The other rarity?

Some Jazz fans actually tried to get the wave going around EnergySolutions Arena when the Jazz were up by 30 or so points.

That even surprised Carlos Boozer.

"They was waving. Was they waving?" Boozer said with a laugh when asked about how fans tried to get the football tradition going inside the basketball arena.

Sadly, the partially successful wave was far more entertaining than the Nets on this night.

Boozer got a kick out of it.

"As long as they keep coming," he added, "we going to hopefully keep them cheering."

Boozer smiled and laughed again.

"The wave huh? Ain't that back from 1970 or something when that came out? Y'all gotta come up with a new thing for the crowd to do and I'll get it started and we'll get it popping in the arena."

That wasn't, however, a reference to any popcorn-popping-on-the-apricot-tree songs.
