BOUNTIFUL — A 3.3 magnitude earthquake startled residents along the Wasatch Front and woke up social media late Wednesday.

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reported the quake happened at 10:34 p.m. hit about 10 miles east of Bountiful, at a hypocentral depth of about 6 miles.

The Davis County Sheriff's Office said dispatchers hadn't received any calls about earthquake damage as of 11 p.m., and the Centerville Police Department reported officers were conducting a "rapid damage assessment" as a precaution.

Utahns who felt the quake can report it to the U.S. Geological Survey website.
