Real Salt Lake midfielder Kyle Beckerman and goalkeeper Nick Rimando were named to the 30-man preliminary U.S. men's soccer national team roster, team manager Jurgen Klinsmann announced Monday afternoon.

The duo will leave for Palo Alto, California, on Wednesday to train with the U.S. national team, RSL announced. The USMNT has an international friendly against Azerbaijan on May 27 in San Francisco, before taking on Turkey on June 1 in New York City and Nigeria on June 7 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The USMNT roster will be trimmed to 23 players by June 2 — 10 days before the FIFA World Cup begins in Brazil.

Beckerman, who has appeared 35 career games with the U.S. team, has two goals and two assists for RSL this season. The RSL captain has started all 10 games this season.
