High school quarterback Hayden Griffitts tweeted Saturday night that he'll play for BYU after serving an LDS mission to Japan.

Griffitts' father, Robert, played for BYU as a defensive lineman in 1993.

Griffitts passed for 2,276 yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior at West Orange High School in Winter Gardens, Fla., according to Max Preps. His twin brother Kyle plays linebacker and tight end on the same team.

Chris Hays of the Orlando Sentinel ran a feature on the Griffitts brothers in February when they both received their LDS mission calls. Hayden Griffitts will serve in Kobe, Japan. According to Hays, the Griffitts' grandfather served both as a missionary and as a mission president in that mission. Kyle Griffitts has been called to the Comodoro Rivadavia Mission in Argentina.

While neither Hayden nor Kyle Griffitts has received a scholarship offer from BYU, they had already been given preferred walk-on status at BYU, Utah and Utah State, according to Hays' article. Both brothers report to the Provo MTC this July.
