“Strong support for Israel in U.S. cuts across religious lines," according to a Feb. 27 Pew Research Center Fact tank.
According to the study, evangelical Christians are far more supportive of Israel than American Jews “by some measures.”
The survey asked if the U.S. was not supportive enough of Israel. U.S. Jews and U.S. Christains were very similar in this number, respectively 31 percent and 29 percent said that the U.S. wasn't supportive enough.
However, the numbers altered greatly when you compared U.S. Jews with U.S. white evangelicals, where the white evangelicals said by a margin of 46 percent that the U.S. was not supportive enough of the Jewish state.
