What does Vivint co-founder and CEO Todd Pedersen think is the most important characteristic of a leader?
“For me, I think it’s understanding the needs of the employee base.” Pedersen told Fortune’s Chanelle Bessette. “You can't do anything without great people surrounding you and having them be motivated to set out and accomplish what you're trying to accomplish," he continued. “I think you can force things to happen inside of an organization, but that isn't lasting.”
In the interview, Bessette asked the Utah native 10 questions about achieving success, motivating his employees and living a balanced life.
“I've been making more of an effort to stay focused on the family and turn the phone off for a couple of hours and pay attention to what's here at home,” he said in response to the latter question. “At the end of the day, that's what really matters.”
