Our national Congress has recently been voted as the least effective in history. I think elected officials today are for the most part talented individuals, with strong conviction about their own opinions. Issues are not resolved because elected officials can't agree. The resolution attempts only seem to be about getting louder, supported by the political party they come from.
What government today — national, state and local — needs is a healthy variety of opinions and ideas presented to the elected officials, and then a collaborative approach to get a group decision that becomes the best solution possible. Why have we moved so far toward getting someone's own way compared to a best collective decision?
