CEDAR CITY — Duchesne used 107 yards and two touchdowns from Matt Dye and 70 yards and two scores from Trent Roberts to knock off Diamond Ranch 42-14 in the 1A semifinals at Southern Utah University.

With the victory, Duchesne advances to next week's 1A state championship against rival Rich.

Diamond Ranch actually had a 14-13 lead in the second quarter before Matt Muir put the Eagels back ahead with a nine-yard scamper.

The Diamondbacks fumbled the second half kickoff with Roberts scoring from two yards out as the Eagles scored 21 unanswered third-quarter points to win 42-14.

"We played much better in the second half," said Duchesne head coach Jerry Cowan. "We wanted to win the turnover ratio and we had two in the second half that helped propel us."

The Eagle defense had five sacks on the night as Josey Reinhardt had one sack to go along with his seven tackles on the night.
