The LDS Hospital on 8th Avenue and C Street will give out free flu vaccines from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, to adults and children ages 9 years old and up.
The shots will be given at the hospital's Educational Center.
"The hospital has given over 400 free flu shots to people in the past," said Brooks Stevenson of the LDS Hospital public relations. "The LDS Hospital has given free flu shots to the public for several years, at least six to seven years since we became involved with the program. Flu shots will be given until supplies last. These flu shots are only given once a year by LDS Hospital."
"The Center for Disease Control and Prevention predicts what strain of the flu shot should be given," said a pharmacy employee at the LDS Hospital who did not want her name mentioned. "This time it is the quadrivalent, or 4-strain vaccine to be given to prevent influenza.
The North West Recreation Community Center on 1255 West Clark Ave., or 300 North, will also be giving free flu vaccines on Friday, Oct. 25, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
