SPRINGVILLE — Residents are invited to decorate their houses and yards with all things Halloween by Wednesday, Oct. 30, and enter the annual Springville Halloween decoration contest.

Judges will look for the following criteria: animation or moving parts; sound effects; special effects such as fog and lightning; interaction with visitors; and effective use of space. The top winners and those who nominated them will receive a prize.

People can nominate their own home or a neighbor's by sending the homeowner’s name and address to kdavis@springville.org before noon Oct. 30.

Final judging will take place anonymously from the street after dark on Oct. 30. The top three homes will get an award sign in their yard. All nominated addresses will be posted on the city’s website.
