SALT LAKE CITY — Students at Mountain View Elementary School and Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker took part in a worldwide reading effort on Tuesday.

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record, presented in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, is a world record-breaking campaign that brings together children and adults to read the same book on the same day.

The official campaign book is "Otis," by New York Times best-selling author Loren Long.
