Much of a team's place in the college football landscape isn't determined by what a team does on its own. The performance of a team's opponents is a huge factor as well.
BYU lost to Virginia, and Utah defeated Utah State, but there were many, many other games that took place all over the country, and more than 30 of them had bearing on BYU, Utah and USU's standing. Why? Because these teams will face off against the Cougars, Utes and Aggies later this year.
Here's a team-by-team look at how all the teams who will face off against BYU, Utah and USU fared in Week 1.
