LOGAN — Utah State sophomore goalkeeper Jeannie Woller was named Mountain West Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Aug. 26-Sept. 1.
Woller was also honored last week as the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore netminder also earned her first career USU weekly accolade.
Woller (Sandy, Utah) guided Utah State to a pair of 1-0 wins last week as it defeated Utah Valley at home and UTEP on the road. Against UVU on Aug. 26, she made three saves as the Wolverines took 11 shots in the match. Against UTEP on Aug. 30, she made five saves as the Aggies' faced 12 shots. For the week, Woller played 180 minutes, facing 23 shots and making eight saves. Woller has now recorded three-straight shutouts to start the season for the first time in program history.
UNLV senior forward Jenn Wolfe was named the MW's Offensive Player of the Week, as the Rebels went 2-0-0 at the UNLV Nike Invitational.
After earning a 2-2 tie against Nebraska on Monday, Sept. 2, the Aggies are back in action Saturday, Sept. 7, against border-foe Idaho State at 12 p.m., before returning home to host Arkansas on Friday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m.
Admission to all home USU soccer matches at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field is free.
