BYU volleyball: Cougars face UVU on Tuesday

PROVO – The BYU women’s volleyball team returns to Utah to face in-state opponent Utah Valley University after starting the season 1-2 with its first win against Marquette in the Hampton Inn Invitational in Ohio.

The Cougars face the Wolverines on Tuesday at 7 p.m. MDT in the PE Building at UVU. This is the 11th match between the two teams, with the Cougars taking the last matchup, 3-0, in Provo in 2012.

UVU went 1-2 over the weekend in the La Quinta Inn and Suites Invite, with a 3-0 win against North Dakota State. The Wolverines lost in three sets to Arizona State and No. 24 Wichita State.

The Wolverines return four starters plus their libero and added six newcomers in the offseason. They went 18-9 overall and 7-1 in Western Athletic Conference play in 2012.
