LAYTON — The stars were out on the red carpet Monday morning, strutting their stuff while the cameras captured their excitement.

It wasn't the paparazzi photographing a fashion parade — rather parents catching the memory of their children marching in for the first day of school at Mountain View Elementary in Layton.

Principal Don Beatty rolled out the red carpet to welcome students back to school for the 2013-14 year. Beatty started the celebration a few years ago to put the focus on kids, who are truly the celebrities at the school.
