PRICE — Investigators in Carbon County say they are still trying to track down one of the three people who was ejected from a pickup truck in a crash that killed a Price woman.
Brooke Kristine Tomadakis, 22, died after the truck she was riding in slid off Pondtown Road west of Scofield Reservoir about 1:45 a.m. Sunday and rolled 150 feet down a steep embankment, Carbon County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Tom Stefanoff said.
Alvin Carter, 27, of Magna, was also ejected from the truck, Stefanoff said. He was flown from the scene by helicopter to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, but had been released by Wednesday, the chief deputy said.
There was a third person in the truck, but Stefanoff said that individual was taken in a private vehicle to a hospital before deputies arrived. Investigators were trying to identify that individual and the hospital the person was taken to, Stefanoff said.
Deputies have been able to determine that Tomadakis was a passenger in the truck, but still don't know whether Carter or the still-unidentified occupant was at the wheel.
Alcohol use is believed to be a factor in the crash and authorities suspect none of the people in the truck was wearing seat belts, Stefanoff said.
