LOGAN, Utah — Utah State volleyball's 2013 recruiting class earned highest honorable mention recognition as part of PrepVolleyball.com's recently released national rankings by being ranked among the top 100 recruiting classes in the nation.
PrepVolleyball.com compiles its recruiting class rankings with the help of more than 120 college coaches representing every major conference in the country. The list is graded on first-year players and does not include transfers or foreign players. The rankings are based on recruiting class size and strength of the class.
Utah State will have seven new freshmen on its roster in 2013, including outside hitter Maddie Day (Smithfield, Utah/Sky View HS), opposite side hitter Kayla DeCoursey (Farmington, Utah/Viewmont HS), libero Hannah Gleason (Las Flores, Calif./Tesoro HS), middle blocker Carly Lenzen (Cave Creek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows HS), outside hitter Kaylie Kamalu (Kaysville, Utah/Davis HS), setter Erica Moscoso (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley HS) and Hannah Smith (Flemming Island, Fla./Orange Park HS).
PrepVolleyball.com ranked the top 30 schools 1-30, with the next 25 listed as "Highest Honorable Mention" and 44 others receiving "High Honorable Mention" recognition.
USU was one of five Mountain West Conference teams to earn "Highest Honorable Mention" kudos, joined by Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV and Wyoming. The Aggies were also the highest ranked team in the state of Utah, as both BYU and Utah were in the "High Honorable Mention" category.

The Aggies then play at the University of Portland Nike Invitational on Sept. 6-7, before playing at in-state foe Weber State on Sept. 10 and at the Duke University Tournament on Sept. 13-14.
