SANDY — The Salt Lake County Health Department will hold monthly events this summer to collect all types of household hazardous waste.
Hazardous waste includes gasoline or other fuels, fluorescent lights, pesticides, acids, fertilizers, cleaners or any other substance, even if it is unknown. No explosives, radioactive materials, tires or medicines will be accepted.
This free service is available to all Salt Lake County residents. The collection events will be held from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. June 13, July 11 and Aug. 8 at the Sandy Public Works Department, 8775 S. 700 West.
Electronic waste, such as computers or cellphones, also will be accepted.
