Some titles are celebrated more violently than others.

Following the conclusion of the 2012-13 Russian Premier League season, fans of the championship-winning team CKSA Moscow took to the streets, expressing their pleasure by engaging in activity that warranted the dispatch of officers in riot gear to calm the crowds down.

Meanwhile in France, the most violent action related to the Ligue 1 title was the team's launching of David Beckham high into the air in celebration of his final season as a professional soccer player. Beckham, who announced his retirement last week, is now being courted by Paris Saint-Germain to work in an ambassador-like role.

Across the pond, the NBA playoffs, the Preakness stakes, Major League Baseball and Real Salt Lake's 4-1 win over L.A. Chivas USA offered plenty to keep American sports fans occupied over the weekend.
