SALT LAKE CITY — A longtime local advocate for the uninsured is stepping down from her leadership position at the Utah Health Policy Project.
Judi Hilman is joining Arches Health Plan, the state's new nonprofit cooperative health plan established by federal health care reform. Similar to her duties with the advocacy project, she will oversee expansion of the plan to underserved and uninsured communities throughout Utah.
Hilman said UHPP, which she co-founded in 2006, is "well-positioned to continue leading and collaborating on policy research, implementation and consumer assistance" in her stead.
UHPP is recruiting local and national candidates to replace Hilman, who begins her new position as vice president of consumer engagement and strategic partnerships at Arches on July 15.
