Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah is now officially in the NFL.

Ansah signed a five-year deal for an undisclosed amount with the Detroit Lions, becoming one of the first 2013 draftees to sign a contract with a pro team.

Detroit is also the first NFL team to sign all of its picks. The Lions finalized all their contracts before the beginning of Friday's rookie minicamp.

Ansah, selected at No. 5 overall in the 2013 draft, is the highest-drafted player in BYU football history. He shares that distinction with Jim McMahon, BYU's quarterback from 1978-81 who was drafted No. 5 overall by the Chicago Bears in 1982.

Meanwhile, former Utah State University wide receiver Matt Austin became the third Aggie to officially call Seattle home and the first non-drafted player from Utah to sign a multi-year contract with an NFL team.

Austin was not selected in the 2013 NFL draft, but was signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent immediately after the draft concluded. Austin was one of 18 players to sign free agent contracts that played at Utah colleges, but managed to snag a multi-year deal.

The terms of his deal weren't released.

Ansah was the only BYU Cougar selected in the 2013 NFL draft, while USU cornerback Will Davis and USU running back Kerwynn Williams were selected by the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts, respectively.
