Arbor Day: Volunteers plant trees in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY — To celebrate Arbor Day, volunteers planted trees at the I-215/3500 South interchange in West Valley City on Friday.

West Valley City staff and community volunteers planted 43 new trees; four autumn brilliance serviceberries, three white firs, three Bosnian pines, three jeffrey pines, six ponderosa pines, six eastern redbuds (donated by UPS), 15 silver lindens and 15 golden rain trees.

In a related project, employees of the UPS service center in West Valley City planted an additional 12 trees along the Decker Lake trail.
