SALT LAKE CITY — Westminster College will host the final regular season Frontier Conference event of the year at Wingpointe Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday. The teams will play two rounds Monday and the final round Tuesday. It will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on both days.
The Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) men enter the final event holding a 17-stroke lead over Westminster College for the top spot in the season standings. Carroll (Mont.) is in the No. 3 position and sits 33 strokes behind Lewis-Clark State.
Westminster’s Dane Jensen leads the individual rankings on the men’s side with 432 strokes, with Jason Molner of LCSC in second with 439 strokes. Daniel Thompsett from Rocky Mountain (Mont.) is the only other player within 10 strokes of the lead entering Monday as he has recorded 442 strokes to date.
LCSC also enters the final tournament holding the lead on the women’s side. The Warriors have posted 1,923 strokes to lead Rocky Mountain by seven heading into the finale. Westminster is in third place with 1,965 strokes as it looks for a third-straight Frontier Conference regular season title.
Jackie Mee from Carroll is atop the women’s standings with 471 strokes, with Brandi Bork from Westminster in second at 474. In total, there are seven players within 10 strokes of the lead entering play on Monday, including Jenteal Jackson of Westminster who is looking for a third-straight Frontier title and is six strokes off the lead.
