FORT DUCHESNE, Uintah County — The FBI has confirmed that it is investigating a double stabbing on the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation.

The stabbings happened March 13 when at least two people burst through the door of a home in the Richardson subdivision about 3 a.m., according to the FBI. A third suspect entered the home a short time later.

Two men inside the home were stabbed by at least one of the intruders, investigators said. One man's injuries were so severe he had to be admitted to Uintah Basin Medical Center. The other man was treated at the hospital and was later released.

Authorities have executed a search warrant on a vehicle they believe is tied to the case, but declined to say what evidence, if any, they may have recovered.

Anyone with information about the stabbings is asked to call the FBI's Vernal field office at 435-789-2112 or Bureau of Indian Affairs police at 435-722-2012.
