SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert has narrowed the search for a new state Department of Corrections executive director to three people.

On Friday, Herbert intends to interview acting director Mike Haddon, Summit County Sheriff Dave Edmunds and Rollin Cook, a retired Salt County sheriff's chief deputy, according to the governor's office.

Tom Patterson, who was appointed by former Gov. Jon Hunstman Jr., stepped down as executive director last month after six years on the job.
