SALT LAKE CITY — Drivers on three more stretches of Utah highway will be able to put the pedal to the metal, at least up to 80 mph, without fear of a speeding ticket.
The Senate unanimously approved HB83 Friday, allowing the new speed limit on I-15 from Tremonton to the Idaho border; I-84 from the Tremonton interchange to the Idaho border; and I-80 from Grantsville to Wendover.
The House earlier approved the measure. The bill now goes to the governor. If he signs it, the 80 mph speed limit will take effect once the Utah Department of Transportation posts the appropriate signs.
