WENDOVER — Utah Highway Patrol troopers say a 14-year-old boy took his parents car Saturday and rolled it near Wendover.
The boy was conscious and alert and talking with police following the accident. He was transported by ambulance to Primary Children's Medical Center.
Troopers were alerted to the boy when other motorists called 911 to report a reckless driving making sudden and unsafe lane changes, according to the UHP.
"A Trooper caught up to the vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle did not yield. The vehicle rolled a short time later," the UHP stated. Troopers say the boy "jerked the wheel to the left," causing the vehicle to roll in the median.
The boy is from Grantsville. There was no immediate word why he took his parents' car.
Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
