Throughout the entire season, 13-year-old Owen Groesser diligently performed his job as team manager for the Van Hoosen Middle School basketball team in Rochester Hills, Mich.

Head coach Jeff Howell decided to play Groesser, who was born with Down syndrome, during a game as a reward for all that the teen had done to help the team.

With two minutes left in the first half, Groesser entered. After his teammates ran a play to get him the ball, he took a shot — and swished a 3-pointer.

After ending the game with six points, a classmate started the hashtag #GetOwenOnSportsCenter. The hashtag — and subsequent video of Groesser — went viral, with the video of Groesser's 3-pointers eventually making it on ESPN's "SportsCenter."
