Miami had an exponential fourth quarter run when it cut the Utah Jazz's 21-point lead to just four.
With a Gordon Hayward fade-away and the Jazz forcing Lebron James into a turnover in the waning seconds, Utah fended off the surging Heat to win 104-97.
The Jazz were led by Hayward and Al Jefferson, who finished with 22 and 23 points respectively.
James had 32 points and six assists in the game for the Heat. Dwayne Wade only finished with 11 points after getting in early foul trouble.
Utah out-rebounded Miami 40-23, pulling down 13 offensive rebounds.
