PHOENIX — Utah Jazz center Al Jefferson had nine points, five rebounds and three assists to lead the Jazz to a 42-40 halftime lead over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
The Suns opened the game on a 16-6 run, led by six points from point guard Goran Dragic. But a balanced effort from the Jazz, including eight points from Derrick Favors, tied the game at 36 halfway through the second quarter.
The Suns shot 49 percent from the floor, but they committed eight turnovers to allow the Jazz to stay in the game.
Dragic led all first-half scorers with 13 points. Paul Millsap added five points and eight rebounds for the Jazz.
