CEDAR CITY — The Utah National Guard will hold a ribbon-cutting for the remodeled armory at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Home to Second Battalion, 222nd Field Artillery, the Cedar City Armory was built in the 1950s. The yearlong, $1.5 million project includes a 1,600 square-foot classroom addition; new paint, carpet, floor and ceiling tile and landscaping; heating and cooling system upgrades; and new lighting and energy-efficient improvements that will reduce electricity costs by an estimated 20 percent.
The remodeled facility at 1065 N. Airport Road also includes new windows and expanded window space, new kitchen equipment and flooring, and communication and data-system infrastructure.
