SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Transit Authority's new FrontRunner South line will be open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Members of the public can ride the new commuter rail line without purchasing fare by donating a canned food item. Trains will run every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The offer is good only for travel on the new line, including the following stations: Salt Lake Central, 600 W. 250 South; Murray Central, 140 W. Vine St. (5144 South); South Jordan, 10351 South Jordan Parkway; Draper, 12997 S. FrontRunner Blvd.; Lehi, 3101 N. Ashton Blvd.; American Fork, 782 W. 200 South; Orem, 900 S. 1350 West; Provo, 690 S. University Ave.
Donated food will be collected by the Utah Food Bank and the Community Action Service and Food Bank to help the hungry in Salt Lake and Utah counties.
Fare will be required to ride FrontRunner north of Salt Lake Central Station.
