COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — The City Council on Tuesday appointed John Park as the city’s new manager. He will replace Liane Stillman, who is retiring after eight years of service.
Park had worked as city administrator in Highland since June 2010. Prior to that, he spent more than 20 years working for the cities of Orem and Tooele in various capacities, including police officer, director of building and development, and assistant city manager.
“We had dozens of very qualified applicants for the city manager position, but John stood out due to his experience and background,” said Cottonwood Heights Mayor Kelvyn Cullimore Jr. “That broad experience has allowed him to be a creative problem solver and develop the kind of management style we feel is a good fit with our city culture.”
“I am very excited to work with the mayor, council and staff as well as the great citizens of Cottonwood Heights," Park said. "I am grateful for the opportunity that has been extended to me.”
Park will begin employment with Cottonwood Heights on Jan. 7.
