COALVILLE — State park officials are investigating whether alcohol contributed to the death of a Wanship woman Saturday in an off-highway vehicle rollover.
Alissa McCandless, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a passenger in a side-by-side "buggy" style utility terrain vehicle at the time of the accident, according to Utah State Parks and Recreation Lt. Eric Stucki. The driver, Vance Robinson, 30, of Coalville, was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.
Stucki said alcohol was found at the scene and there was no evidence the pair was using seat belts or helmets at the time the OHV rolled.
The accident occurred at about 6 p.m. Saturday near Camper World in Coalville.
