Utah State men's and women's cross-country teams will compete in the 27th annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota, at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn., on Saturday Sept. 29.
USU's men enter the week ranked 10th in the Mountain Region, according to the latest rankings released by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Aggie women also made the list, ranking 14th in the Mountain Region.
Action kicks off for Utah State's men in the Merrill Fischbein Men's Gold Competition at 11:20 a.m. (MT), followed by the USU women in the Jack Johnson Women's Gold Competition at 12:10 p.m.
"This is a really big meet and we have been showing big improvements from camp to our first meet and to our second meet, but they were all smaller, low-key meets," Aggie head coach Gregg Gensel said. "This is going to be an eye-opener for some of our young runners, but I think it is going to be a good test for our better runners and our team."
Action continues for USU's cross-country teams at Pre-Nationals in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday, October 13. The 2012 Western Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La., Saturday, October 27.
