KEARNS — Police were investigating a stabbing during an attempted robbery Wednesday night.
A 30-year-old man told detectives that his car broke down about 9:15 p.m. near 5500 South and 4800 West, just east of Kearns High School, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. The man told police he was then approached by another man who asked him for money and then stabbed him, leaving with nothing.
The man told officers he drove to another location to call for help. Hoyal said the man could not explain why his car was now working.
The man was treated at a local hospital and was released about midnight. The only description of the alleged attacker was that he was 5 feet 10 inches tall with a stocky build and a dark complexion.
Anyone with information can call police at 801-743-7000.
