IVINS, Washington County — Ivins is receiving a grant of more than $12.4 million from the Department of Veterans Affairs to construct a new veterans home.
The veterans home will cost an estimated $19 million to construct and the grant will cover around 65 percent of the cost.
"Our federal-state partnership helps to provide comfortable and safe housing in a caring community for Utah veterans who have served their country," Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki said in a prepared statement.
VA has a medical center in Salt Lake City with seven outpatient clinics and three vet centers across the state to serve more than 150,000 veterans.
