A group of Mormon musicians in Tennessee is planning a family-friendly alternative to the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, the Tennessean reported.
"Liahonaroo" will be drug- and alcohol-free and feature about 30 acts playing music appropriate for people of all ages.
According to the article, "The name, 'Liahonaroo,' is inspired by a compass called the Liahona that a Book of Mormon prophet Lehi used to lead his family through the wilderness. 'Roo' was tacked on the end because people associate that with music festivals."
Though the organizers of the festival are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the event is not religiously oriented.
