KSL.com: Two cities; two works in progress
SALT LAKE CITY — The complete list of retail shops and restaurants at City Creek Center was announced Thursday by Taubman Centers Inc. — the Michigan-based company that manages the retail portion of the $1.5 billion mixed use development.
More than 90 retailers will occupy the downtown shopping center once completed.
When the center officially opens on March 22, it will house more than 30 new-to-Salt Lake City and Utah stores and restaurants, along with the 20 other top retailers previously announced. The new merchants will include Allen Edmonds, Bauer’s Fashion Eyewear, Boss Hugo Boss, Clarks, Disney Store, Rolex by O.C. Tanner, Salomon, Steve Madden and True Religion Brand Jeans.
Those stores and services will join anchor retailers Macy’s and Nordstrom and the 20 other new-to-market tenants previously announced, including 77kids by American Eagle, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Bose, Brooks Brothers/Brooks Brothers Women, Coach, Cotton On, The Limited, L’Occitane, Love Culture, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, Michael Kors, N3L Optics, Pandora, Papyrus, Porsche Design, Swarovski, Texas de Brazil Churrascaria, Tiffany & Co., Tumi and Yankee Candle Company.
The 700,000-square-foot shopping center — the only regional shopping center scheduled to open in the United States in 2012 — is a sustainably designed urban community with a retractable roof, a creek that winds through the property as well as a pedestrian skybridge over Main Street. The residential portion of the center was developed by City Creek Reserve Inc., a for-profit development firm owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The roster of merchants announced also includes Aldo, American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, bebe, Brighton Collectibles, Caché, Chico’s, Claire’s, Express/Express Men, Fanzz, Foot Locker, Forever 21, Gap, Gymboree, H&M, J. Crew, J. Jill, Kay Jewelers, Loft, Mr. Mac, Sephora, Sunglass Hut, Tricked Out, Vans, and White House Black Market. Among the newly revealed specialty stores are AT&T Mobility, GNC Live Well, The Gym at City Creek, LensCrafters, Restoration Hardware, ZAGG and Teavana.
Diners will have nine eateries to choose from such as Big Sal’s, The Cheesecake Factory, Chick-fil-A, Godiva, Farr’s Fresh, Kneaders Bakery & Café, Mykonos and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
Several retailers are already open for business, including Al Rounds Studio, Blue Lemon, Deseret Book, Harmons, Key Bank, Utah Woolen Mills Clothier, Wells Fargo Bank, Zions Bank, VRx Pharmacy, as well as several restaurants in the City Creek Center Food Court.
