CHASE NELSON, Logan football: Enjoyed a record-breaking performance in last Friday's 49-38 win over Roy.

The senior racked up 691 yards of total offense, shattering his older brother D.J. Nelson's previous state record of 606 yards of total offense in 2011.

Logan ran 80 offensive plays, and Nelson was involved in 76 of them. He completed 29 of 41 passes for 441 yards and five TDs.

On the ground, he carried the ball 39 times for 250 yards.

"My O-line was just blowing 'em up," said Nelson afterward. "It was sweet. I was getting huge holes at the end and getting everything I wanted, and just keeping everything north and south."

Five games into the season, Nelson has tallied 1,935 yards of total offense and 21 total TDs.

MARISA ENG, Rowland Hall, volleyball: It isn't just what Marisa Eng does on the volleyball court, but how she does it.

"Her always calm demeanor, positive attitude, amazing work ethic and humble willingness to always put the team before herself makes her the glue of our team, and a player that all others look up to," said Rowland Hall head coach and athletic director Kendra Tomsic. ""She is an excellent student, an amazing leader – both on and off the court. She has outstanding all-around volleyball skills and super volleyball IQ."

The senior co-captain averaged 19 kills and 23 digs with an 88 percent serving accuracy. She is passing at a 2.47 and contributes in just about every way possible.
