I was shocked Monday to read the Nature Conservancy plans not to oppose the West Davis Corridor ("Birds, the moon and the West Davis highway," May 26). Finally some sense from environmentalists. In around 30 years we will go from having 2 million neighbors on the Wasatch Front to 3 million. As much as I like my fellow man, I'd rather not stare at him for needless hours in traffic. The new freeway will be needed.

Current users in Farmington will face less congestion. Future residents in Hooper will have a better route to Salt Lake City. Everyone benefits from excellent roads.
