4A PLAYOFFS

ONE-LOSS BRACKET

MOUNTAIN VIEW 10, MURRAY 9: After blowing a 9-2 lead, Mountain View regrouped and eked out the victory in the bottom of the seventh in a 4A elimination game. Jordan Raab reached base on a two-out single in the seventh, and then came around to score after a single by Parker Bingham and an error.

TIMPANOGOS 12, CYPRUS 0: Timpanogos pounded Cyprus to the tune of 12 runs on 14 hits in a 4A elimination game at Kearns High School. Tanner Nielsen homered and picked up the victory for the T-Wolves, while Jacob Church and Ryan Morin doubled.

TIMPANOGOS 8, MOUNTAIN VIEW 6: After squandering a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh, Timpanogos regrouped and won the 4A elimination game in the eighth inning courtesy of a two-run single by CJ Schroeppel in the top of the eighth.

ONE-LOSS BRACKET

COTTONWOOD 5, SYRACUSE 1: Cottonwood's offense continued to flourish in its postseason run, getting five runs on just five hits for the Colts fourth consecutive playoff victory. Jake Atkinson went 2 for 3, including a double and a triple.

LAYTON 7, AMERICAN FORK 5: Parker Kincades third home run of the day came in walkoff fashion, a two-run blast to left field that gave Layton a 7-5 win over the defending 5A state champs.

LAYTON 10, COTTONWOOD 7: The Lancers scored six runs in the second inning.

SALEM HILLS 16, PROVO 2: The Skyhawks posted 10 runs in the seventh inning.

ONE-LOSS BRACKET

BOX ELDER 10, ROY 0: Sadie Blacker, Myranda Hernandez and Venessa Quintero all doubled as Box Elder rolled past Roy for the five-inning victory in the 4A elimination game. Abigayle Martin picked up the win for Box Elder.

BONNEVILLE 5, MOUNTAIN CREST 3: After coughing up three runs in the bottom of the seventh, Bonneville regrouped in extra innings to knock off Mountain Crest in the 4A elimination game.

BOX ELDER 9, BONNEVILLE 0: Box Elder rolled past Bonneville in the 4A elimination game, its second win of the day.

5A PLAYOFFS

WINNERS BRACKET

COPPER HILLS 15, BINGHAM 0: The Grizzlies pummeled the Miners in the semifinals of the 5A state softball tournament Wednesday night. Sophomore Payten Davies earned the win while Emily Sweet went 4-of-5 with a triple. Riley Cleverly earned five RBIs in the win. The loss means Bingham will face Lehi in at 2:30 Thursday for a chance to play in the 5A state championship at 5 p.m.

ONE-LOSS BRACKET

LEHI 3, RIVERTON 0: Lehi freshman Sydney White pitched Lehi past Riverton in the 5A elimination game in an impressive performance on Wednesday. Stephani Zimmerman homered to lead Lehi at the plate, while Taylor Tahbo doubled.

DAVIS 3, WEBER 1: Cheyenne Norton homered and doubled and also picked up the victory on the mound to lead Davis to the 5A elimination game victory over defending 5A state champion Weber. Trailing 1-0 after the fifth, the Darts scored three runs in the final two innings to pull away for the win.

LEHI 8, DAVIS 2: Taylor Tahbo and Terra Tahbo both doubled as Lehi dominated Davis in the 5A elimination game to advance to the last three of the state tournament. Lehi scored seven runs in the third inning to pull away for the win.
