SALEM HILLS 2, MOUNTAIN VIEW 1: Salem Hills' Conner Rollins singled home two runs in the bottom of the seventh as the SkyHawks overcame a 1-0 deficit to beat Mountain View in the 4A winners bracket at Kearns High School. Colton Hill picked up the victory for Salem Hills.
MAPLE MOUNTAIN 7, TIMPANOGOS 1: Arik Mack helped his own cause with a two-run RBI double in the top half of the fifth as Maple Mountain dominated Timpanogos from the opening pitch.
WESTLAKE 7, SKY VIEW 1: Daniel Nugent went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, while Jamin Van Sickle also drove in a pair of runs to lead Westlake past Sky View in the 4A elimination game at Kearns High School on Tuesday morning.
MURRAY 7, LOGAN 1: Nick Smart had a strong day at the plate with a single, double and triple to lead Murray to a 4A elimination game victory over Logan. Chase Topham tripled as well for the Spartans as they rode the arm of Spencer Downs to the victory.
CYPRUS 5, WESTLAKE 1: Cyprus capitalized on some Westlake defensive miscues in the seventh inning to pull away for the 4A elimination game victory at Kearns High School. After beating Sky View a few hours earlier, Westlake's offense stalled against Pirates' pitcher Parker Loutensock.
BINGHAM 5, SYRACUSE 2: Chase Tavonatti pitched a masterful game as Bingham topped Syracuse to advance in the 5A winners bracket at UVU.
RIVERTON 3, LAYTON 0: The Silverwolves shut out the Lancers.
COTTONWOOD 7, ALTA 2: The Colts scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back, adding three more while starting pitcher Carter Owens scattered four hits in a complete game effort for the win. After losing to Bingham in the first round, Cottonwood has been on a tear, amassing 26 runs total in wins over Fremont, Davis and Alta. Tuesday's win sets up the Colts to play the loser between Bingham and Syracuse on Wednesday, with the winner of that game slated to play later in the evening.
AMERICAN FORK 10, COPPER HILLS 5: The Cavemen exploded for 16 hits Tuesday, going on to beat Copper Hills 10-5 for their second win in a row since losing to Syracuse in the second round of the 5A state baseball playoffs last week. Riley Ottesen was flawless at the plate, going 5-for-5 while driving in three runs and reaching the plate twice. Zac Willis added two hits in three tries and seven other Cavemen logged base hits on the day.
OREM 1, EAST 0: Emil Cuello's second-half goal punched Orem's ticket to the 4A championship at Rio Tinto Stadium.
BOUNTIFUL 3, MURRAY 3: In a wild semifinal at Woods Cross, Bountiful prevailed in a shootout over Murray that went to the seventh shooter, with the Braves prevailing 5-4. Tristan Booth, Jake Haddock and Garrett Rydalch all scored goals for Bountiful, with Chad Piersen, Clay Powell and Sean Speirs scoring for Murray.
BINGHAM 3, COPPER HILLS 2: Bingham sophomore Gabe Altheman outpaced the Copper Hills defense, maneuvered past the goalkeeper, and sent the ball to the opposite post for the overtime victory. The win puts the Miners back in the championship for the first time since winning in 2001.
LEHI 2, BRIGHTON 2: Lehi senior Caide Ramos evened the score with a penalty kick late in the second half and then secured the victory with the final PK in the shootout as the Pioneers edged the top-ranked Bengals in the 5A semifinals.
SALEM HILLS 6, BOX ELDER 2: Kirtlyn Bohling hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the eight as Salem Hills eked out a victory over No. 1 Box Elder in the winners bracket of the 4A softball tournament. Bohling picked up the victory on the mound for the Skyhawks. Molly Horne went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles to lead Box Elder at the plate in the loss.
PROVO 6, MOUNTAIN CREST 3: Mckienzie Corless and Victoria Van Quill both homered in a four-run fourth inning as the Bulldogs battled back from a 2-0 deficit to top Mountain Crest in a 4A winners bracket game.
ROY 7, HERRIMAN 6: Trailing 5-2 heading into the sixth inning, Roy scored five runs in the sixth inning to upset Herriman and continue its march through the 4A one-loss bracket. Mackenzie Kolb picked up the victory on the mound for the Royals.
BOUNTIFUL 9, SPRINGVILLE 8: After falling behind by two in the top of the seventh, Region 6 champion Bountiful rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh and then won the 4A elimination game in the eighth. Ashli Averett, Malia Peterson and Kristy Snyder all hit home runs in the loss for Springville.
OLYMPUS 8, MAPLE MOUNTAIN 7: Trailing 6-5 midway through the fourth inning, Olympus scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to pull away from Maple Mountain for the victory in the 4A elimination game. Niki Eskelson picked up the victory for the Titans, and also doubled in Oly's five-run first inning.
BONNEVILLE 5, MURRAY 4: Abby Toller homered in the second inning, and Bonneville survived a late rally by Murray to advance through the 4A one-loss bracket. Andrea Hancock picked up the victory for the Lakers.
ROY 8, BOUNTIFUL 5: In a sloppy game that featured nine combined errors, Roy kept its improbable march through the 4A state tournament going with a strong victory over Region 6 champion Bountiful. Kylee Blau and Mckayla Sanchez both doubled for the Royals.
BONNEVILLE 4, OLYMPUS 3: Andrea Hancock singled home Cortney Porter in the bottom of the seventh as the Lakers eked out a victory over Olympus in the 4A elimination game. Sheyenne Keesler went 2 for 3 to lead Bonneville.
COPPER HILLS 2, RIVERTON 0: Dani Hamilton homered in the first inning, and then Payten Davies pitched seven strong innings to make the lead hold up as Copper Hills topped Riverton in the 5A winners bracket.
BINGHAM 3, WEBER 2: Bingham pitcher Paige Reimann earned the win and hit the single that drove in the game-tying and game-winning runs as the Miners advance in the 5A playoffs. The loss allows Bingham to take on Copper Hills in Wednesday night's semifinal, while the loss means Weber will face Riverton in the one-loss bracket.
LEHI 5, ALTA 2: Lehi pulled away from Alta in the 5A elimination game by scoring four runs in the top of sixth. Sydney White picked up the victory on the mound for the Pioneers.
FREMONT 2, BRIGHTON 1: In a 5A elimination game pitchers duel, Fremont pulled away with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Peyton Garner picked up the victory for the 'Wolves.
TAYLORSVILLE 4, SYRACUSE 2: Taylorsville overcame a 2-0 deficit in the first inning to rally past Syracuse in a 5A elimination game on Tuesday. Aseneca Lesuna picked up the victory for the Warriors.
DAVIS 14, HUNTER 5: Davis scored 13 runs in the first two innings in a 5A elimination game rout of Hunter, which struggled with eight errors.
LEHI 9, FREMONT 4: Stephani Zimmerman doubled and homered as Lehi rolled past Fremont in the 5A elimination game. Zimmerman finished the game going 3 for 4 as she helped provide plenty of run support for Lehi freshman pitcher Sydney White.
DAVIS 1, TAYLORSVILLE 0: Cheyenne Norton singled home Payton Yerke in the top of the eighth inning as Davis narrowly beat Taylorsville in a 5A elimination game. Norton went 2 for 4 to lead the Darts at the plate, as well as on the mound as she earned the victory.
